Pasture prescribed burn with Saulteau First Nations



Saulteau First Nations Reserve Land – The BC Wildfire Service will be supporting Saulteau First Nations in conducting a prescribed burn covering up to 120 hectares on Saulteau First Nations Reserve Land in the Prince George Fire Centre.

Smoke may be visible from Saulteau First Nations, Chetwynd, Moberly Lake, surrounding areas and to motorists travelling along Highway 29.

Key goal: Supporting grass fire risk reduction, pasture enhancement, and cross-training opportunity with Saulteau First Nations and Moberly Lake Volunteer Fire Department.

The burn may take place as early as Friday, April 24, 2026 depending on suitable conditions. This project has been carefully planned and will only go ahead at the right time and under the right conditions to ensure community and staff safety.
