New and improved B.C. Wildfire Dashboard

Spring is in the air and summer is on the horizon! People have different ideas of what activities they will be planning – camping, swimming, hiking and travelling to name a few – but what we all have in common is the hope to enjoy those plans while staying safe, wherever we may be.

Thanks to the newly improved B.C. Wildfire Dashboard it is now easier to do just that and find the trusted information you are looking for, so you can be prepared and understand what to do during wildfire season.

As soon as you land on the homepage, you will see it has been totally remodeled with a lot of details that are easy to scan and quick to find.

Improvements now help you to:

  • check social media updates, watch videos and explore blog posts
  • create up to three saved locations to get notifications about fire bans, new wildfire starts, road events and evacuations
  • search either on the map or in the list view by place, address, fire name and more
  • report a fire as soon as you see it, even if you are in an area with no cell coverage, and information will automatically be sent once service returns

The dashboard is now accessible from any web browser, and can also be accessed through the BC Wildfire Service app that is available for free download:

Other features have been improved on the map view to aid accessibility, make it easier to zoom in and out, move around, find and read specific incident details.
