erase Community of Practice – June 1, 2026 – High Risk Vulnerable Youth and Summer Planning
Safer Schools Together and the Ministry of Education and Child Care will host a Community of Practice session on June 1, 2026, from 9:30–10:45 am. The session will focus on supporting the development of plans for high-risk and vulnerable youth during the summer months as well as approaches to support their successful transition to the new school year. Within this context, current digital trends, gang associated behaviours in B.C. and management of the erase Report It tool for the summer months will be discussed.

Reminder: BC Child and Youth in Care Week 2026 Kick-Off Celebration
The 16th annual BC Child and Youth in Care Week will take place from June 1-7, 2026. You are invited to register for the Kick-Off Celebration, which will be held virtually on Monday, June 1, from 6:00-7:00 pm. Registration is free and open to anyone interested in attending. Hosted by the Federation of BC Youth in Care Networks, this event will highlight the history of BC Child and Youth in Care Week, honour this year’s Recognition Award recipients, and showcase youth creativity. Discipline Outcomes
Discipline outcomes are posted to enhance the transparency of the processes and decisions made with respect to complaints and reports about educators. Recently, outcomes were posted regarding Phi John Le whose teaching certificate was suspended for one day and Kelsey MacRae Blake whose certificate was previously cancelled and who agreed to a 15-year ban on reapplying or being issued any authorization to teach in the K-12 education system.
