Reporting Employment of Certificate Holders – Due October 15
Under section 80 of the Teachers Act, employers are required to make a report to the Director of Certification on all B.C. certificate holders who were employed during the past academic year (July 1, 2025, to June 30, 2026). Please ensure your report is submitted through the Employers’ Area by October 15. View the video that gives an overview of the Employers’ Area. FIFA Events and Reminder to School Districts
As communities throughout British Columbia prepare for the FIFA World Cup 2026™, school districts are encouraged to stay aware of local events and ensure safety plans remain current and well‑communicated.
While the most significant impacts will be in the Lower Mainland, fan celebrations and viewing events are planned in 32 communities throughout the province and all districts may experience some level of increased activity.

Homeschooler Registration
To plan for the coming school year, schools and districts are reminded that home educators are required to register homeschoolers with a school by September 30 each year and that public schools are required under the School Act to register homeschoolers. Schools may wish to remind homeschooling families of the requirement to register in end-of-year communications. Please review the Homeschooling Procedures and Guidelines Manual for a summary of school and district responsibilities and best practices.

Response to Unexpected Health Emergencies – Upcoming Deadline
A reminder that under the Support Services for Schools Order, boards of education must ensure automated external defibrillators (AEDs) and naloxone kits are accessible in all elementary and middle schools by September 8, 2026, in addition to the requirement for these devices to have been accessible in all secondary schools by December 31, 2025.
Districts are advised that naloxone orders placed through the Product Distribution Centre may take approximately four to eight weeks to fulfil and ordering timelines should be planned accordingly.
After the September 8, 2026, deadline, districts will receive a short survey to confirm the availability of AEDs and naloxone in all schools, along with a request for public links to finalized district policies.

Healthy Smiles Start Early Dental Health Campaign
Help connect young families with free, multi-language dental health information by participating in this year’s Healthy Smiles Start Early dental health campaign, co-led by BC Children’s Hospital and Child Health BC.
Informed by families, and through delivery of print materials, social media content, online videos, and a campaign web page, the Healthy Smiles Start Early campaign provides information about how to care for baby teeth and prevent cavities.
Email healthbridge@cw.bc.ca by June 26 to order a bundle of free, multi-language, printed materials, including posters, postcards, stickers, for your Strong Start Educators and Ready, Set, Learn programs. You can also receive a digital toolkit with items such as social media content, e-newsletter blurb, digital slides for waiting rooms, and video embed codes.

Intimate Images Public Information Campaign
An Intimate Images Public Information Campaign is running May 25 to July 5, 2026, to increase awareness of available supports through the Intimate Images Protection Service and reinforce that non-consensual sharing of intimate images is illegal. To support the campaign, districts are encouraged to promote the Take Back Your Images website and related materials within your school community. A series of printable posters and promotional videos (Video 1, Video 2, Video 3) are available to help raise awareness.

Discipline Outcomes
Discipline outcomes are posted to enhance the transparency of the processes and decisions made with respect to complaints and reports about educators. Recently, an outcome was posted regarding Kylejeet Singh Grewal whose teaching certificate was suspended for one day.
