As part of the K–12 Literacy Supports Initiative, professional learning grants were distributed to all school districts in February 2025, to support district literacy development practices, including professional learning opportunities for teachers and support staff, and information for parents and caregivers.
1. School districts are required to complete a Literacy Professional Learning Grant Expenditure Report by June 30, 2026, providing the ministry with information on how grant funding is being allocated and used. Completed forms should be emailed to Literacy.Supports@gov.bc.ca.
2. If funding has not been fully expended by that time, remaining funds must be spent by June 30, 2027, and a second Expenditure Report must be submitted to the ministry by July 15, 2027.
School districts can also direct any questions on the grant or the expenditure report to Literacy.Supports@gov.bc.ca.
