MyEducation BC, the provincial student information system, has been updated to support the recognition of students’ gender diversity. Two data collection systems have also been updated: PEN Web, used for student registration and PEN assignment, and the Education Data Exchange (EDX), used for submitting 1701 enrolment data, now include two additional gender options (U & X).
System users can now identify a student’s gender using the following fields:
- Man/boy – M
- Woman/girl – F
- Prefer not to answer/Unknown – U
- Non-binary person – X
