WILLIAMS LAKE – The Cariboo Fire Centre continues to respond to the Beef Trail Creek wildfire (C51672). This wildfire is estimated to be 950 hectares and is located north of Ulkatcho First Nation and Anahim Lake and east of Tweedsmuir Provincial Park.
In the interest of public and responder safety, this amended area restriction takes effect immediately and remains in place until Sept. 30, 2025 at noon or until the Order is rescinded.
This Order applies to Crown land within the geographic boundaries described below and as outlined on the map. The map and described boundaries outlined below are an amendment from Aug. 30, 2025.
- North Boundary: Commencing at the intersection of the Dean River and Road Permit FLA56805 at Coordinate 1 (52° 47.736′, -125° 32.709′), follow the southern edge of the Road Permit southwest to the intersection of Road Permit FLA56805 and Road Permit A55903 CP 41 at Coordinate 2 (52° 47.117′, -125° 33.737′). Take a bearing of 216 degrees for 3,407 meters to a point along the Tweedsmuir Park Boundary at Coordinate 3 (52° 45.644′, -125° 35.546′).
- East Boundary: From Coordinate 5, take a bearing of 35 degrees for 5,435 meters to the intersection of Louis Squinas Ranch 14 Reserve boundary and Abuntlet Lake at Coordinate 6 (52° 34.274′, -125°26.239′). Following the western boundary of Louis Squinas Ranch 14 to the north, reconnecting with the west shore of the Dean River. Follow the west shore of Dean River north to the boundary of Blackwater Meadow 11 Reserve. Follow the western boundary of Blackwater Meadow 11 Reserve north to the western boundary of Willow Meadow 9 Reserve then going east to reconnect to the west shore of the Dean River. Follow the west shore of the Dean River to the point of commencement at Coordinate 1.
- South Boundary: Following the north edge of the Chilcotin-Bella Coola Highway 20 east to the intersection of the Chilcotin-Bella Coola Highway 20 and Road Permit R07111 AM02,04,09 at Coordinate 5 (52°31.899′, -125° 29.054′). Travel on the highway is not impacted by this Area Restriction.
- West Boundary: Following the Tweedsmuir Park Boundary south to the intersection of the Tweedsmuir Park Boundary and the northern edge of Chilcotin-Bella Coola Highway 20 at Coordinate 4 (52° 33.074′, -125° 43.659′).
Access to the Dean River for travel, recreation, or other authorized users remains open. However, the Beef Trail Road is closed, as it lies within the restricted area.

Under this Order and section 11(2) of the Wildfire Act, a person must not remain in or enter the restricted area without the prior written authorization of an official designated for the purposes of the Wildfire Act, unless the person enters the area only in the course of:
- Travelling to or from his or her principal residence;
- Using a highway as defined in the Highway Act;
- Travelling to or from private or leased property to access a secondary residence or recreational property that is not under an evacuation order;
- Travelling to or from First Nations reserve land;
- Range development and/or Range practices as defined in the Forest and Range Practices Act;
- Supporting the government in the completion of wildfire suppression activities.

Failure to comply with Section 11 restricted area requirements may result in a violation ticket for $1,150.
