Timber Sales Licences
BC Timber Sales (BCTS) sells about 20% of the provincial harvest through competitive auction. This timber is available to loggers, wood processors and other forestry businesses.
The auction of timber sales licences determines the market value of timber harvested from public (Crown) land, which is used to set the stumpage rate and ensure British Columbian’s receive a fair price for our shared timber resource.
