See the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bclaws.gov.bc.ca\/civix\/document\/id\/complete\/statreg\/53_2012\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">LIF Regulation<\/a> for more information, including what the funding can be used for.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To receive the <a href=\"https:\/\/www2.gov.bc.ca\/assets\/gov\/education\/administration\/resource-management\/k12funding\/25-26\/25-26-summary-of-grants-april-2025.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">LIF allocation for next school year<\/a>, school districts must engage in genuine consultation with local support staff unions regarding LIF use. Please complete this <a href=\"https:\/\/www2.gov.bc.ca\/assets\/download\/D5D63219331D47AFAF725F3FE749C895\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">form<\/a> confirming genuine consultation has occurred and return it to <a href=\"mailto:FFAB.ECC@gov.bc.ca\">FFAB.ECC@gov.bc.ca<\/a> by June 20, 2025.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If the local union and school district do not agree that genuine consultation has occurred, the BC Public School Employers\u2019 Association (BCPSEA) will work with the parties to facilitate the process. This assurance is then used in their verification of the Public Accounts information to the Office of the Auditor General.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As the Ministry of Education and Child Care is responsible for the collection of financial statements and related items for school districts, the ministry requires that the secretary-treasurer sign and forward a copy of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www2.gov.bc.ca\/assets\/download\/535675EE86D847048E9FF49B2B8AAB0D\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Management Representation Letter<\/a> signed and dated June 10, 2025,<strong> <\/strong>by emailing a PDF copy to <a href=\"mailto:EDUC.GRESDReporting@gov.bc.ca\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">EDUC.GRESDReporting@gov.bc.ca<\/a> by Thursday, June 12, 2025.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Please insert the school district name in the space provided in the first paragraph and ensure that the letter is issued on school district letterhead. Premier Eby will speak to the graduates and respond to questions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The ministry invites secondary schools to nominate two Grade 12 graduating students by Tuesday, June 3 who would want to take part in this call. Districts\/schools should not send in the names of students to the ministry yet. Further information will be forthcoming, and a call link will be provided later in June.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The ministry also invites every school district to submit one question on behalf of their students for Premier Eby. This initiative was identified through a joint working group with the ministry, the First Nations Education Steering Committee (FNESC), the Indigenous Adult and Higher Learning Association (IAHLA), and the Ministry of Post-Secondary Education and Future Skills (PSFS). The goals of this initiative are to:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Better understand school district recruitment and retention practices specific to First Nations teachers, including the use of BC\u2019s Office of the Human Rights Commissioner Special Programs for preferential hiring.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Gain insights into the experiences of First Nations teachers related to recruitment and retention.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Engagement with school districts and First Nation teachers occurred in the spring of 2024 and included a survey sent to all school districts, as well as interviews and focus groups with human resources staff and First Nation teachers in 10 districts from across the province. As an alternative, an official, password-protected <a href=\"https:\/\/www2.gov.bc.ca\/gov\/content\/education-training\/k-12\/support\/transcripts-and-certificates\/pdf-transcripts\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">PDF transcript<\/a> via email remains an available option for students using the <a href=\"https:\/\/www2.gov.bc.ca\/gov\/content\/education-training\/k-12\/support\/transcripts-and-certificates\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">StudentTranscripts Service<\/a>. The next scheduled <a href=\"https:\/\/www2.gov.bc.ca\/assets\/gov\/education\/administration\/kindergarten-to-grade-12\/graduation\/certificate-and-transcript-distribution-guide.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">monthly distribution<\/a> of printed certificates to schools is set for June 2. Some schools may experience delays depending on how disruptions affect local mail conditions.
