The report shares actions taken to support the design and delivery of affordable, inclusive, accessible and quality child care in B.C.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The report highlights successes between 2024 and 2025 including:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Establishing a trilateral Memorandum of Understanding with First Nations Leadership Council and Canada<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Eliminating waitlist fees at child care centres participating in Child Care Operating Funding and Child Care Fee Reduction Initiative programs<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Creating a streamlined application process for boards of education seeking to create child care on school grounds<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Supporting the child care workforce through testing and collecting feedback on a wage grid under the Operating Funding Model test<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Introducing the Learning in the Primary Years as a resource to help teachers support children\u2019s development from kindergarten through Grade 3<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This is the first annual report published under the <a href=\"https:\/\/www2.gov.bc.ca\/gov\/content\/family-social-supports\/caring-for-young-children\/child-care-strategy#act\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Early Learning and Child Care Act<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a id=\"_msocom_1\"><\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The 2024-2025 Early Learning and Child Care Act Annual Report can now be found on the Our Plan: ChildCareBC web page.
