To support emergency preparedness and planning across the education and child care sectors, the Ministry of Education and Child Care is sharing updated emergency management resources for the 2025 year. These resources support mitigation, preparedness, response and recovery planning.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www2.gov.bc.ca\/assets\/download\/82394B0ED2F14ABF861560444C7A06AC\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">K-12 Education and Child Care: Emergency Management Key Contacts<\/a> lists current contacts at the ministry and other educational partners to support emergency response coordination and information sharing.\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www2.gov.bc.ca\/assets\/gov\/family-and-social-supports\/child-care\/info-partners-prov\/ecc_info_package_emergency_management.pdf\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/www2.gov.bc.ca\/assets\/gov\/family-and-social-supports\/child-care\/info-partners-prov\/ecc_info_package_emergency_management.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">K-12 Education and Child Care: Emergency Management Resource Package<\/a> includes key resources to help schools and child care facilities plan for, respond to, and recover from emergencies such as wildfires, heat events, floods and other climate-related risks.&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Districts are encouraged to review and share this information to help strengthen emergency readiness across their school communities.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Any questions can be directed to the Student Safety team at <a href=\"mailto:erase@gov.bc.ca\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">erase@gov.bc.ca<\/a>.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Emergency Preparedness Week is May 4-10, 2025.
