Living with mental health challenges often forces people to hide behind a \u201cmask\u201d to protect themselves from judgment and discrimination &#8211; this year\u2019s theme is &#8220;Unmasking Mental Health&#8221;<em>,<\/em> encouraging people across Canada to look beyond the surface and see the whole person<strong>.<\/strong> See the <a href=\"https:\/\/cmha.ca\/mental-health-week\/toolkits\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Mental Health Week School Toolkit<\/a> for more information and to access free resources.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>During the Canadian Mental Health Week, the ministry is hosting its fifth Mental Health in Schools Conference on May 5-6, 2025. This year\u2019s theme is &#8220;Walking Alongside&#8221; (students, staff, and the broader school community) to promote student and adult mental health and well-being in the B.C. K-12 education system. This anticipated conference amplifies the ongoing work in school-based mental health and substance use education, as well as our commitment to collaboration with education, health, and community partners. It will bring together K-12 and early learning sector representatives and partners, health authorities, and Indigenous organizations.
