These audits are undertaken in the areas of Continuing Education, Inclusive Education, Online Learning, Summer Learning, and for K-12 Regular Enrolment, including Indigenous Education and English Language Learning supplemental services.<br><br>The purpose of these audits is to provide assurance to the ministry and boards of education that <a href=\"https:\/\/www2.gov.bc.ca\/gov\/content\/education-training\/k-12\/administration\/legislation-policy\/public-schools\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">ministry policies <\/a>and instructions contained in <a href=\"https:\/\/www2.gov.bc.ca\/gov\/content\/education-training\/k-12\/administration\/program-management\/data-collections\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Form 1701: Student Data Collections Completion Instructions for Public Schools<\/a> are being followed. The findings from the audits may result in funding adjustments to school districts (including those eligible for funding protection). The ability for a district to appeal audit findings remains in place.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<!--more-->\n<!--noteaser-->\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group hide-on-main\"><div class=\"wp-block-group__inner-container is-layout-flow wp-block-group-is-layout-flow\"><div class=\"taxonomy-action_or_info wp-block-post-terms\"><a href=\"https:\/\/blog.gov.bc.ca\/ecc-dm-bulletin\/action_or_info\/for-info\/\" rel=\"tag\">For Information<\/a><\/div>\n\n<div class=\"taxonomy-release_date article-release-date wp-block-post-terms\"><span class=\"wp-block-post-terms__prefix\">Published <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/blog.gov.bc.ca\/ecc-dm-bulletin\/release_date\/2024-08-30\/\" rel=\"tag\">Friday August 30 2024<\/a><\/div>\n\n<h1 class=\"wp-block-post-title\">2024\/25 Annual Compliance Audit Notification<\/h1><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Consistent with past years, funding recoveries are expanded to include FTEs outside of the audit sample where the auditors identify a clear link between audit findings in their sample and those FTEs outside the sample.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The procedures the auditors will use this school year can be found on the <a href=\"https:\/\/www2.qa.gov.bc.ca\/gov\/content\/education-training\/k-12\/administration\/resource-management\/compliance-program\/2024-25\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">2024\/25 Compliance Audit web page<\/a>. Please share this information with your schools and staff as appropriate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The ministry will be reviewing enrolment and other relevant data to select school districts for this year\u2019s program. This will include a review of past years\u2019 audit reports to identify school districts that may benefit from a follow-up audit. <strong>Retention of student attendance records and participation documentation at each Form 1701 data collection reporting period is required to verify the district\u2019s claims and to assist in the enrolment audit process<\/strong>. The recommended retention documentation for your Level 1 District Data team members can be found on the <a href=\"https:\/\/www2.gov.bc.ca\/gov\/content\/education-training\/k-12\/administration\/resource-management\/compliance-program\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Compliance<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/www2.gov.bc.ca\/gov\/content\/education-training\/k-12\/administration\/resource-management\/compliance-program\">web page<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If your district is selected, a letter of notification will be sent to the Superintendent of Schools at least two weeks in advance of the review. There may be modifications to the compliance audits process.
