BC Tripartite Education Agreement Learning Series: Joint Verification Process Webinars and Q&A Sessions \u2013 Save the Date<\/h1><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Indigenous Services Canada (ISC), the First Nations Education Steering Committee (FNESC), and the Ministry of Education and Child Care invite you to mark your calendars <\/strong>for this year\u2019s Nominal Roll Learning Series webinars and Q&A sessions covering the Joint Verification Process (JVP).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Joint Verification Process was introduced in the 2019\/20 school year as part of the implementation of the British Columbia Tripartite Education Agreement: Supporting First Nation Student Success (BCTEA)<\/em>. The JVP is an important process between First Nations and local school districts that helps ensure Nominal Roll students are appropriately accounted for and that funding is calculated accurately.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The intended audience for the JVP webinars and Q&A sessions is First Nations and school districts with First Nation Students living on reserve and attending public schools. The webinars are an opportunity for both parties to learn about steps that can lead to a successful Joint Verification Process and develop a clear understanding of roles and responsibilities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The sessions will be hosted by Indigenous Services Canada, the First Nations Education Steering Committee and the Ministry of Education and Child Care.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Information on how to register for the sessions below will be sent out via the DM Bulletin in July.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Each session will cover the same material, so you only need to attend once. You are welcome to both sessions if you like.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Supplementary: Nominal Roll and Joint Verification Process Virtual Q&A sessions<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Nominal Roll and Joint Verification Virtual Q&A Sessions provide a space where First Nation Education Coordinators and Directors and school district representatives may raise specific JVP questions or seek clarification to support First Nations\u2019 Nominal Roll submission to ISC, which is due on October 15, 2024.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
