{"id":42967,"date":"2024-06-07T08:00:00","date_gmt":"2024-06-07T15:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blog.gov.bc.ca\/ecc-dm-bulletin\/?post_type=article&#038;p=42967"},"modified":"2024-06-07T14:09:47","modified_gmt":"2024-06-07T21:09:47","slug":"final-post-secondary-institution-psi-selections-for-2024-graduates-due-july-12","status":"publish","type":"article","link":"https:\/\/blog.gov.bc.ca\/ecc-dm-bulletin\/article\/final-post-secondary-institution-psi-selections-for-2024-graduates-due-july-12\/","title":{"rendered":"Final Post-Secondary Institution (PSI) Selections for 2024 Graduates \u2013 due July 12"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Please remind graduating students to make their Post-Secondary Institution (PSI) selections in the StudentTranscripts Service (STS) by July 12.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<!--more-->\n<!--noteaser-->\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group hide-on-main\"><div class=\"wp-block-group__inner-container is-layout-flow wp-block-group-is-layout-flow\"><div class=\"taxonomy-action_or_info wp-block-post-terms\"><a href=\"https:\/\/blog.gov.bc.ca\/ecc-dm-bulletin\/action_or_info\/action\/\" rel=\"tag\">For Action<\/a><\/div>\n\n<div class=\"taxonomy-release_date article-release-date wp-block-post-terms\"><span class=\"wp-block-post-terms__prefix\">Published <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/blog.gov.bc.ca\/ecc-dm-bulletin\/release_date\/2024-06-07\/\" rel=\"tag\">Friday June 07 2024<\/a><\/div>\n\n<h1 class=\"wp-block-post-title\">Final Post-Secondary Institution (PSI) Selections for 2024 Graduates \u2013 due July 12<\/h1><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Please remind graduating students to make their Post-Secondary Institution (PSI) selections in the StudentTranscripts Service (STS) by July 12.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>By July 12, 2024,<strong> <\/strong>graduating students are encouraged to visit the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.studenttranscripts.gov.bc.ca\/\">StudentTranscripts Service<\/a> (STS) to authorize release of their transcript data to their chosen post-secondary institutions (PSIs) for admissions purposes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Current students may make up to 25 PSI selections free of charge, generally up to six months after completing their last course. They are also entitled to order one free printed transcript (by mail) after graduation, which can be sent to any address they choose. All other transcript orders in STS (including <a href=\"https:\/\/www2.gov.bc.ca\/gov\/content\/education-training\/k-12\/support\/transcripts-and-certificates\/pdf-transcripts\">PDF transcripts<\/a>) are $10 each.<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Distribution of Transcripts<\/strong><br>How and when a student\u2019s transcript is sent will depend on the PSI and the <a href=\"https:\/\/www2.gov.bc.ca\/gov\/content\/education-training\/k-12\/support\/transcripts-and-certificates\/post-secondary-selection\">option<\/a> selected by the student in the STS:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www2.gov.bc.ca\/gov\/content\/education-training\/k-12\/support\/transcripts-and-certificates\/post-secondary-selection#electronically\">Many B.C. and Alberta colleges and universities, as well the Ontario Universities\u2019 Application Centre (OUAC)<\/a> can receive final marks and request transcript updates electronically throughout the year (when authorized by the student).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>All other PSIs will receive paper transcripts, which will be processed by July 31 (typically arriving by mail at PSIs in the first week of August, or later, depending on the location).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em>\u201cSend Now\u201d <\/em><\/strong><strong>option<\/strong>: At any time, students can also choose the send \u2018now\u2019 option to send their most current transcript to a selected PSI. They should review the transcript carefully to ensure it is complete and accurate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Important information about electronic distribution (XML)<\/strong>:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>If a student\u2019s selected PSI <a>is capable of receiving<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/www2.gov.bc.ca\/gov\/content\/education-training\/k-12\/support\/transcripts-and-certificates\/post-secondary-selection#electronically\">ongoing electronic updates<\/a> (i.e., XML transcripts), the student should choose the second option to \u201cSend my transcript now and allow this Post-Secondary Institution to request transcript updates until the date specified below.\u201d It is also recommended that they leave the authorization period set to the default date of one year.&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Schools can access a preview on the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bced.gov.bc.ca\/exams\/tsw\/principals\/principals\/\">School Secure Web<\/a> of an XML transcript for a PSI that has been authorized by a student to receive transcript updates via XML. <strong><\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>PSI Selections \u2013 Student Summary Reports<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For schools, the \u201cPSI Selections \u2013 Student Summary Report\u201d (available on the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bced.gov.bc.ca\/exams\/tsw\/princ_terms.jsp\">SSW<\/a> under &#8220;Post-Secondary Reports&#8221;) is updated weekly until mid-July.
