Consistent with prior years, the Office of the Comptroller General requires that each crown corporation, agency, and SUCH sector entity supply a Management Representation Letter<\/a> effective June 7, 2024. <\/strong>The purpose of this letter is to provide the Office of the Comptroller General with assurance that they may rely on the school district’s system of internal controls to ensure accuracy and completeness of the financial information included in their audited financial statements and provided in the GRE reporting at March 31, 2024.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

Management Representation Letters<\/h1><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Consistent with prior years, the Office of the Comptroller General requires that each crown corporation, agency, and SUCH sector entity supply a Management Representation Letter<\/a> effective June 7, 2024. <\/strong>The purpose of this letter is to provide the Office of the Comptroller General with assurance that they may rely on the school district’s system of internal controls to ensure accuracy and completeness of the financial information included in their audited financial statements and provided in the GRE reporting at March 31, 2024. This assurance is then used in their verification of the Public Accounts information to the Office of the Auditor General.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As the Ministry of Education and Child Care is responsible for the collection of financial statements and related items for school districts, the Ministry requires the Secretary-Treasurer to sign and forward a copy of the Management Representation Letter<\/a> signed and dated June 7, 2024 <\/strong>by emailing a PDF copy to EDUC.GRESDReporting@gov.bc.ca<\/a> by Monday, June 10, 2024.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Please insert the school district\u2019s name in the space provided in the first paragraph and ensure that the letter is issued on school district letterhead. The letter, which can be downloaded from the link above, is in Word format and should be copied\/pasted onto your district letterhead.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
