Resulting programs should focus on in\u2011demand careers and students who will benefit most from post-secondary transition support. School districts should apply with at least one other district or independent school association, and grant requests should fall within the range detailed below. Email\u00a0<a href=\"mailto:dualcredit@gov.bc.ca\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">dualcredit@gov.bc.ca<\/a>\u00a0to ask questions and apply by April 12.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Highlights: Dual Credit Program Expansion Grant<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Understand the grant program<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Dual Credit Program Expansion grants are intended to promote regional partnerships.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Funds are to be spent on building up the partnership\u2019s dual credit administration capacity.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>These activities should eventually lead to more dual credit opportunities that address regional labour market demands and support a diversity of students, including those most likely to benefit from post-secondary transition support (e.g., Indigenous students; students with disabilities and diverse abilities; and students who do not have family with post-secondary experience).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The resulting dual credit opportunities should be sustainable with or without future grants.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Put together a partnership<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>New, emerging, and established partnerships are encouraged, regardless of experience administering dual credit; vision and enthusiasm are key.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>A lead school district or independent school association should apply with at least one other school district or independent school association.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Decide on a funding request<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Each partnership should determine their funding request based on the number of school districts or independent school associations within their partnership, and&nbsp;on the scope of their proposed activities.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>As a rule-of-thumb, applicants should consider asking for funds in the range of $25,000 to $100,000 <em>per school district or independent school association <\/em>within the partnership:\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>e.g., a school district, a group of independent schools, and a post-secondary partner are advised to ask for between $50,000 and $200,000; they consider their needs and request $125,000.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>e.g., 5 school districts and 2 post-secondary partners are advised to ask for between $125,000 and $500,000; they consider their needs and request $375,000.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>e.g., 3 school districts, 1 post-secondary partner, 1 First Nation, and 1 community organization are advised to ask for between $75,000 and $300,000; they consider their needs and request $300,000.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>These are only guidelines; exceptional proposals will be considered.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Submit one application per partnership by April 12<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Find the full application on the <a href=\"https:\/\/www2.gov.bc.ca\/gov\/content?id=CA9E3F67886745B8B66B554B37313AD8\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">dual credit web page<\/a>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Email your proposal on time to <a href=\"mailto:dualcredit@gov.bc.ca\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">dualcredit@gov.bc.ca<\/a>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Aim for thorough, not perfect; ideas and partnerships still taking shape are acceptable.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Annual grants are available to help school districts and post-secondary partners establish or grow regional partnerships that expand capacity for dual credit administration.
