As Monday, September 19 is now a federal holiday to reflect the National Day of Mourning to commemorate the funeral of Queen Elizabeth II, the date of the declaration of election by voting or acclamation will now be September 20. As outlined on p. vi of the School Trustee Election Procedures in BC Guide, by September 20 (previously September 19), the chief election officer must either announce that an election by voting is to be held or declare the candidates elected by acclamation (s. 98 (1), (2), and (3) of the Local Government Act).
Some parts of the province continue to be impacted by wildfire smoke. BCCDC has information about wildfire smoke, including how to use the Air Quality Health Indicator (AQHI) and air quality advisories to determine if any action is needed.
