Superintendents are encouraged to register for our Monthly Analytics Outreach and Information Sharing Sessions to learn about new and existing analytical products offered by the Ministry for capturing student statistics and outcomes. These sessions will make use of information and data sources such as Power BI reports, Data Catalogue, Student Success Website, Reporting SharePoint site and the Security Access user list, all of which can be accessed from the new K-12 Education Data Portal. Please invite staff as you deem appropriate. A video recording of the September 29 session is also available. Please contact EDUC.ReportingUnit@gov.bc.ca if you have questions.

SADE Collection Update
To streamline ministry data collections and reduce the administrative burden for schools, the ministry is introducing a modified SADE collection for October 2022 and will be working to decommission the SADE process by end of the 2022-23 school year. The quarterly SADE collection has been modified to only include schools with Graduated Adult course completions. If you have Graduated Adult course completions to report to the ministry, please submit your SADE report by Oct 31, 2022. If you do not have Graduated Adult course completions, you no longer need to submit a SADE file. Questions can be directed to Data.Management@gov.bc.ca.

Indigenous-Focused Graduation Requirement – Implementation Supports
Further to the announcement in the August 26 DM Bulletin regarding implementation supports for the new graduation requirement, the Ministry is continuing to work with FNESC, BCSSA and FISA to schedule regional FNESC workshops for educators. The Ministry and FNESC are also co-developing a brochure for parents/caregivers, and video resources to support school/district planning and information sessions. More information on the workshops, and links to the new resources, will be shared with districts later this month. K-12 Reporting Policy Update
The K-12 Student Reporting Policy remains on track for implementation on July 1, 2023. In the meantime, a team of district and school administrators and teachers have completed work on implementation support documents for release in December 2022. The MyEducation BC team is also working on updates to ensure the technical supports are in place for a successful implementation. Please contact Student.Reporting@gov.bc.ca if you have any questions.

Redesigned Performance Standards
Co-constructed with educators across the province, the redesigned Performance Standards will be available for province-wide trialing in winter 2022. The revised standards highlight literacy and numeracy thinking and communication skills essential to all learning areas. They are intended to serve as a planning, teaching and assessment resource that promotes cross-curricular Literacy and Numeracy while continuing to build the important skills developed in our Language Arts and Mathematics curricula. International Education Mobility Programs

International Education Mobility Programs (IEMPs) support international exchange opportunities for B.C. students and teachers. Grants for 2022/23 are available to school districts with small or developing international programs (i.e., programs with fewer than 400 students).
