As discussed in today’s call with Superintendents, Secretary Treasurers and District Leads of Indigenous Education, links to the new Ministerial Order and Implementation of IECs PowerPoint have been posted to the ministry’s website to support effective implementation of Indigenous Education Councils (IECs). A Question and Answers document will be coming in the July 5th DM Bulletin. The ministry anticipates releasing the IEC policy before the BCSSA Summer Leadership Gathering on August 16, 2024. The ministry will also have additional IEC conversations with the sector throughout the year.
