Aboriginal Students: How Are We Doing (AB:HAWD) Report – Updated May 2023
Due to an update of the Adult Dogwood credential data, the “Six-Year Completion Rate, Adult Dogwood Contribution” was re-calculated. The Ministry has also updated the Six-Year Completion Rate, and the count of Adult Dogwood. Given the significant over-representation of young Indigenous learners among Adult Dogwood recipients, districts are encouraged to closely examine their Adult Dogwood data and to consult with local First Nations on strategies to reduce the number of Adult Dogwoods awarded to First Nations learners. Revised unmasked reports can be found on the secure Reporting SharePoint for School Districts. Masked reports will be updated on the Student Success website. Please contact Jeremy.Higgs@gov.bc.ca if you have any questions.

Recent Discipline Outcomes
Discipline outcomes are posted to enhance the transparency of the processes and decisions made with respect to complaints and reports about educators. In February, an outcome was posted regarding Brent Alexander Daniel, whose certificate was suspended for four weeks. Daniel did not comply with the conditions set out in the consent resolution agreement, so his certificate has now been suspended again until he provides proof of completing the required coursework.
