Please visit News & Notices in the Employers’ Area to review the list of suspensions. Certificate holders recently employed by you will be flagged. Ensure certificate holders pay the annual practice fee so that they can teach this fall. Systemic Review Report Released by the Representative for Children and Youth & Government’s Response
On Tuesday, July 16, British Columbia’s Office of the Representative for Children and Youth (RCY) released the Don’t Look Away – How one boy’s story has the power to shift a system of care for children and youth report. This report, available on the RCY website, includes an investigative section and a systemic review with recommendations to strengthen our province’s entire system of supports for vulnerable children, youth, and families. As an initial response to the review, government announced a new direction for vulnerable children and families which focuses on coordination across ministries to reduce gaps and improve child safety, by focusing on prevention, care, and overall well-being of families.
