Indigenous Focused Non-Instructional Day Extension
The Indigenous focused non-instructional day will continue as part of the existing non-instructional days for the 2023/24 and 2024/25 school years to align with the British Columbia Tripartite Education Agreement (BCTEA) that has been extended till 2025. This is an opportunity for teachers to participate in discussions and activities that focus on enhancing Indigenous student achievement and integrating Indigenous world views and perspectives into the learning environment. The Ministry will follow up during the 2023/24 school year to learn how districts have implemented this day.
