April 21 is the target date for reporting interim marks to TRAX. Most B.C. public post-secondary institutions, many Alberta universities and colleges, and the Ontario Universities’ Application Centre can retrieve ongoing transcript updates as soon as authorized by the student through the StudentTranscripts Service. Interim data for six B.C. post-secondary institutions and the University of Alberta still on the “one-time” transfer process, will be sent on May 5.

Post-Secondary Institution (PSI) Selections for 2023 Graduates – Due April 21
Please remind graduating students to make their PSI selections in the StudentTranscripts Service (STS). Most public B.C. PSIs, Alberta universities and colleges, and the Ontario Universities’ Application Centre (OUAC) can request ongoing XML transcript updates following student authorization in STS. Orders for May interim mark transfers to non-XML enabled PSIs (six B.C. PSIs or the University of Alberta) should be placed in STS by April 21. Framework in Action Spring Speaker Series
Please join us on April 18 for a presentation by Klarka Zeman and Laura Gibson, analysts from the Canadian Centre for Education Statistics at Statistics Canada. They will give an overview of using data to tell a story, understanding what data is telling us, and available research and data on Indigenous children, children in care, and children with disabilities and diverse abilities. First Peoples’ Cultural Council (FPCC) Youth Empowered Speakers Program Call for Applications – Due June 14
The Youth Empowered Speakers Program (YES) is for B.C. First Nations youth ages 18-30 living on or off-reserve who want to become fluent in their own First Nations language while pursuing a career as an Indigenous language teacher. Proof of post-secondary program acceptance must be provided by June 30, 2023 to be eligible for program funding. Register for the online information session on April 19. Recent Discipline Outcomes
Discipline outcomes are posted to enhance the transparency of the processes and decisions made with respect to complaints and reports about educators. Recently, an outcome was posted about Deborah Laurie Croft who was suspended for two days. A summary of an outcome was also posted about a teacher who agreed to a lifetime ban on reapplying or being issued any authorization to teach in the K-12 education system.
