School districts interested in onboarding to the new provincial LMS (D2L’s Brightspace) are invited to attend two upcoming sessions. On September 27, the ministry-led information session will provide an overview of how to onboard to Brightspace for K–12 use cases and Brightspace for professional development. On October 5, the D2L-led session will provide additional insight into training and resource supports, along with a demo. To register, please have the school district’s representative(s) complete the Cohort 5 interest questionnaire by September 22, 2023.

Introduction to Compassionate Systems Leadership Training – October 3-6, 2023
Educators in B.C. are invited to register for the Introduction to Compassionate Systems Leadership workshop facilitated by Dr. Peter Senge and Dr. Mette Boell. Hosted by the Ministry of Education and Child Care and the Center for Systems Awareness, this workshop supports the ministry’s Mental Health in Schools Strategy. This guide provides educators, school leaders, and district leaders with a resource that summarizes and highlights the key components of the new K-12 Student Reporting Policy Guidelines. Due Oct 3: Deadline for Framework for Enhancing Student Learning Report Extended
As per the Enhancing Student Learning Policy, the Enhancing Student Learning Report deadline is September 30. Due to the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation on September 30, reports will be accepted up to October 3, 2023. Districts should submit the Enhancing Student Learning Report and strategic plan to EDUC.Framework@gov.bc.ca.
