Schools should submit registrations for the Grade 10 and 12 April Graduation Assessments through a TRAX data transfer and confirm them on the School Secure Web (SSW) Online Graduation Assessment Register that is open March 3 through March 27, 2025.

Together, government and child care providers are reducing fees for families and sustaining child care services in communities throughout British Columbia. Child Care Operating Funding (CCOF) assists providers with the day-to-day costs of running a licensed child care facility.
Applications for the 2025-26 renewal are now open through My ChildCareBC Services. To ensure providers have time to plan, the 2025-26 CCFRI funding guidelines were shared ahead of time.
A list of key CCOF renewal dates for 2025-26 is available on the Apply for or renew Child Care Operating Funding web page. March 10 is the last day to sign 2025-26 CCOF Funding Agreements to ensure funding is in place for April 1, 2025, and providers can start to pre-claim starting March 15.
For 2025-26, fee increase limits remain at 3% of the regional median fee. These limits support families to access affordable child care. In addition to the 3% fee increase, providers are supported through base funding, fee reductions for families, provider payments and the Early Childhood Educator Wage Enhancement.
The CCOF program contact centre is open to provide support to child care providers from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm PST, Monday to Friday, at 1 888 338-6622 (Option 2).
$10 a Day ChildCareBC applicants: Child care providers who recently applied to the $10 a Day ChildCareBC program will be notified directly about the status of their application. All applicants who have not yet received the results of their application are asked to apply for CCOF at the link above to ensure that no gaps in funding occur.
Safer Schools Together and the Ministry of Education and Child Care are hosting a Community of Practice session on March 4, 2025, from 3:15 to 4:30pm PST. Scenarios will be provided in this session for participants to discuss and consider what should be included in developing individual safety support plans that address specific student needs. Opportunities will also be provided to share what has worked well and any issues districts and/or schools have encountered in developing their current plans.

As part of the BC Learning Pathways project, the K-4 Foundational English Language Arts and Mathematics Learning Progressions and K-4 English Language Arts and Math Proficiency Profiles are available now on the K-4 Foundational Learning Progressions website for provincial field review. These new resources support teachers in developing students’ reading, writing, oral language and math skills and complement the existing K-12 cross-curricular literacy and numeracy supports.
Educators are invited to give feedback about the K-4 Foundational Learning Progressions and K-4 Proficiency Profiles on the BC Learning Pathways BC Learning Pathways Feedback page. Field review will be open from February 28 to March 31, 2025.
Public Safety Canada is hosting a webinar series on the unique aspects of online gaming, highlighting the benefits and the potential risks for children. This event is facilitated by GamerSafer, a safety tech company dedicated to protecting players and gaming communities from digital risks and harms.
This event is designed to share expert insights and actionable strategies among parents, caregivers, educators, and civil society to gain a deeper understanding of online gaming, learn how to engage positively with youth on digital safety, and explore ways to protect children from exploitation and abuse in online gaming environments. This session will be hosted on Zoom.
