The 2022/23 Student Learning Survey is currently available until April 28. The survey is open for students in Grades 4, 7, 10, and 12, as well as parents, staff, and principals/vice-principals. To help monitor survey participation, districts can view their SLS participation rates (updated weekly) through the SLS Participation Rate dashboard. PDF versions of the SLS reports from last year’s administration are also now available in Reporting SharePoint for school districts. MindUp Adult Well-Being Courses
The Mental Health in Schools Strategy recognizes the importance of addressing the well-being of adults in the K-12 system. The Ministry has partnered with MindUP to develop two additional courses to support adult well-being through the practice of self-care and mindful teaching. BCTEA Transportation Plans and Reports Drop-In Sessions
The First Nations Education Steering Committee, the Ministry of Education and Child Care, and Indigenous Services Canada invite you to register for one of three drop-in sessions to ask any questions you may have related to this year’s BCTEA Transportation Plans and Reports. Youth Work in Trades (WRK) Award Program Redesign
The WRK Award, which is co-administered by the Ministry of Education and Child Care and SkilledTradesBC, will be transitioning to a scholarship program in Spring 2025 to better support student transitions to further trades training after high school. AccessAbility Flag Design Contest (March 1 – April 28)
Easter Seals invites students in grades 6-8 and 9-12 across B.C. and the Yukon to enter its AccessAbility Flag Design Contest. The contest is designed to bring out the creativity of students and spark a discussion in the classroom around INCLUSION, DIVERSITY, EQUITY AND ACCESS, leading up to National AccessAbility Week, May 28-June 3, 2023. Students are asked to design a flag that symbolizes what diversity means to them and what B.C./Yukon looks like as an AccessAble society. There are prizes for teachers and students.
