Hi everyone,
Thank you again for the great collaborative conversations at the BCSSA Leadership Gathering. The executive team and I were pleased to have some time on the agenda to talk about our collective priorities for the coming school year. I would also like to note that these great discussions were balanced with the stress for a number of your communities that remain impacted by the wildfires this summer, including West Kelowna and our colleagues in the Northwest Territories.

2023 Early Learning and Child Care Summit
The Ministry of Education and Child Care is hosting the 2023 Early Learning and Child Care Summit in Vancouver at the Morris J Wosk Centre for Dialogue on October 13, 2023. The theme is Supporting a Child Care Ecosystem. Representatives from the child care sector have been invited to attend alongside business, municipal and community leaders to discuss innovative ways of improving child care services across the province. Significant progress has been made towards building a child care system in which all families have access to quality, inclusive child care. We are looking forward to building on these achievements and expanding partnerships through the latter-half of the 10-year ChildCareBC Plan. This Summit is the next step in the ongoing dialogue around early learning and child care in B.C. that will have lasting impacts within the broader child care sector and communities. Please share with your networks as appropriate.
