This initiative aims to support more First Nation students to consider teaching as a career path through dual credit opportunities. Applications for this EOI must be developed and implemented in partnership with one or more local First Nations and one or more post-secondary institutions.
This initiative is in alignment with Action 4.02 of the Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples Act Action Plan and was co-developed through a joint working group with the Ministry of Education and Child Care, Ministry of Post-Secondary Education and Future Skills, First Nations Education Steering Committee, and Indigenous Adult and Higher Learning Association, to support the training, recruitment and retention of First Nation teachers.
