The ministry has partnered with the BC Children’s Hospital to launch a new mental health resource for families. Language Matters! Understanding Mental Health and Substance Use: A Resource for Families and School Communities is a companion resource to the educator guide and is designed to help parents, guardians and caregivers of school-age children (ages 5-11) and youth (ages 12-18) build a shared understanding of key concepts and language on mental health and substance use.
We invite you to register for the introductory webinar on September 17 at 12:00-1:00 pm. During the session, you’ll learn more about:
- How the resource was developed
- Key mental health and substance use concepts it covers
- Practical ways families and educators can use the resource
