The Holocaust Educational Theatre is embarking on a province-wide initiative to bring live Holocaust education programming to middle and high schools across British Columbia, including Vancouver Island, the Lower Mainland and Interior regions. Their programming is based on the true, often verbatim stories of young survivors, and it is designed to combat antisemitism, foster empathy and preserve the memories of these survivors for future generations.
The Holocaust Education Theatre performs the play Survivors, which tells a chronological history of the Holocaust through the personal experiences of ten Holocaust survivors.Survivors covers the rise of Hitler through life after the war and includes memorable and impactful true stories, such as a teen who watched her boyfriend being taken away to a concentration camp, a girl who was separated from her parents and relocated to England through the Kindertransport, and a boy whose family struggled to escape to China.
