Pursuant to Section 12(a) of the British Columbia policy on half-masting, flags will be flown at half-mast at the legislature and all B.C. government buildings in New Westminster to honour the memory of Chief Rhonda Larrabee of the Qayqayt First Nation who died on April 5, 2026. Flags were flown at half-mast from April 7 to 8 and will be flown at half-mast again from sunrise to sunset on the day of the funeral or memorial service (to be determined). The B.C. policy on half-masting protocols is provided in case school districts wish to follow a similar approach.
