Flag Half-masting for former Premier John Horgan and the National Day of Remembrance and Action on Violence against Women

According to British Columbia’s policy on half-masting, the Canadian flag at the Parliament Buildings in Victoria will remain at half-mast from now until sunset on Dec. 15, the day of the provincial state memorial service for John Horgan, former Premier of British Columbia, who passed away in Victoria on Nov. 12, 2024. Flags are also at half mast on Dec. 6 to mark the National Day of Remembrance and Action on Violence Against Women. Where a Canadian flag and a British Columbia flag fly near to one other, both flags will be lowered to half-mast.

The direction of the Province on half-masting protocols is provided in case school districts wish to follow a similar approach.
