erase Organized Crime and Exploitation Prevention Information Series – Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD): Safety and Co-Regulation

As part of their eraseOrganized Crime and Exploitation Prevention Information Series, the Ministry of Public Safety and Solicitor General (PSSG) is hosting a presentation on Wednesday, February 25, 2026, 10:30 am-12:00 pm PST.

The session will be delivered by the Provincial Outreach Program for Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (POPFASD) and will introduce the overlapping brain and body‑based characteristics linked to prenatal alcohol exposure. The session will also:

  • provide effective communication and co‑regulation strategies for adults working with students
  • explore vulnerabilities associated with FASD in the context of school safety and justice involvement
  • offer practical tools that school staff can use to support children and youth with neurodevelopmental needs, including FASD
