Since its launch in 2017, the Student Success website has become an important tool providing public-facing school, district or community data through summary reports, dashboards and other data visualizations. The goal is to present data in context to help analyze provincial and local performance to support parents and student learning. The ministry is seeking input from sector users to update the site.
Why is the Student Success website important?
As sector proponents know, students succeed when caregivers, educators, administrators and policymakers have the right information to make decisions and take action. Data is used to:
- Get new insights into the education sector
- Recognize patterns and can help make connections for making improvements
- Make policies or solve problems that will help improve student outcomes
Information sharing is about building relationships
As a public-facing website, Student Success is appropriate for all to see and access, and it helps to build relationships between the ministry, district staff, school administrators, educators and caregivers united by the goal of providing the best education to students.
The goal
The ministry’s goal is to maintain and update the Student Success website to make it as useful and relevant as possible and ensure the site meets the needs, expectations and preferences of our clients. The intent is to:
- Investigate user feedback on the site and its performance
- Upgrade its data visualization software and accessibility
- Research usability, engagement and relevance of its content
Please share your feedback in our short online survey. Your insights and input are an important part of not only keeping the website relevant, but also ensuring the site meets the needs, expectations and preferences of all its users.
