There are currently 188 wildfires burning across the province. Of these wildfires, 61 per cent are classified as Being Held or Under Control.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Fifty-two per cent of wildfires detected in the last week have resulted from immediate lightning ignition or lightning holdover ignitions. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

While some fire centres have seen an increase in human caused fires, crews are being successful with supression on fires when smaller. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Evacuation alerts and orders have been lifted for the Flood Falls wildfire due to successful management efforts and changes in conditions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Weather forecast<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

On Thursday and Friday we expect showers and thundershowers across much of the Southern Interior with temperatures at or below seasonal. Northern parts of the province will remain more dry than their southern counterparts. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Friday will see more rain and thundershowers in the southern areas of the Prince George Fire Centre and gusty winds that may affect fire behaviour. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The weekend brings cool and unsettled conditions, with precipitation continuining in areas of the south and dry conditions persisting in the far north. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Anticipate temperatures to stay cool until later next week when they will recover to seasonal. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
