They also apply to the following types of land within municipal boundaries:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Parks, conservancies and recreation areas (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.bclaws.gov.bc.ca\/civix\/document\/id\/complete\/statreg\/96344_01\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><em>Park Act<\/em><\/a>)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Recreation sites, recreation trails, interpretive forest sites and trail-based recreation areas (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.bclaws.gov.bc.ca\/civix\/document\/id\/complete\/statreg\/02069_01\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><em>Forest and Range Practices Act<\/em><\/a>)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Ecological reserves (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.bclaws.gov.bc.ca\/civix\/document\/id\/complete\/statreg\/96103_01\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><em>Ecological Reserve Act<\/em><\/a>)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Wildlife management areas (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.bclaws.gov.bc.ca\/civix\/document\/id\/complete\/statreg\/96488_01\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><em>Wildlife Act<\/em><\/a>)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Private managed forest land (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.bclaws.gov.bc.ca\/civix\/document\/id\/complete\/statreg\/03080_01\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><em>Private Managed Forest Land Act<\/em><\/a>)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Municipalities may impose different prohibitions or restrictions. Please check with your local government before engaging in any activity that could spark a wildfire.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Practicing fire safety and preparedness remains important all year long. Be aware of your local conditions and ensure that burning is done in a safe and responsible manner. They may be required to pay an administrative penalty of up to $10,000 or, if convicted in court, may be fined up to $100,000 and\/or sentenced to one year in jail.
