KAMLOOPS \u2013 The BC Wildfire Service will implement an Area Restriction Order within the vicinity of the Bald Range wildfire (K51490), <\/em>which originated approximately 15 kilometres west of Summerland. <\/em>This Order takes effect at 12:00 noon Pacific Daylight Time (PDT) on August 29, 2026 <\/strong>and remains in force until the earlier of 12:00 noon PDT on September 12, 2026 or until the Order is rescinded.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This area restriction is being implemented to address public and responder safety and limit public interference in areas where fire suppression activities are taking place.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Under this Order and section 11(2) of the Wildfire Act, a person must not remain in or enter the restricted area<\/strong> without the prior written authorization of an official designated for the purposes of the Wildfire <\/em>Act, unless the person:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Enters the area only in the course of:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

(a) Travelling as a person acting in an official capacity;<\/p>\n\n\n\n

(b) Travelling for the purpose of supporting wildfire suppression activities;<\/p>\n\n\n\n

(c) Travelling to or from his or her principal residence, that is not under an evacuation order;<\/p>\n\n\n\n

(d) Travelling to or from his or her private or leased property for the purposes of accessing his or her secondary residence or recreational property, that is not under an evacuation order.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

(e) Using a highway as defined in the Transportation Act;<\/p>\n\n\n\n

(f) Using the Princeton-Summerland Road; or <\/p>\n\n\n\n

(g) Engaging and\/or participating in agricultural activities pertaining to livestock or agriculture management on Crown Range, Crown Grazing Lease, private or leased property.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This Order applies to all land within the geographic boundaries described below and on the attached map<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

East Boundary:<\/strong> Commencing at Point 1 (49\u00b0 35.643′, -119\u00b0 44.901′) at the intersection of The Corporation of the Municipality of Summerland and the Princeton-Summerland Road follow the boundary of The Corporation of the Municipality of Summerland south-easterly to Point 2 (49\u00b0 33.362′, -119\u00b0 42.831′) along the Trout Creek Ecological Reserve. Take a bearing of 198 degrees for 1.97km southerly to Point 3 (49\u00b0 32.353′, -119\u00b0 43.339′) at the end of Big Valley Road. Follow Big Valley Road south-westerly to Point 4 (49\u00b0 30.969′, -119\u00b0 45.966′) at the intersection of Big Valley Road and Shingle Creek-Summerland Road.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

South Boundary:<\/strong> From Point 4 follow Shingle Creek-Summerland Road to Shingle Creek Road south-westerly to Point 5 (49\u00b0 30.739′, -119\u00b0 46.643′) at the intersection of Shingle Creek Road and Shingle Creek. Follow Shingle Creek westerly and then June Creek south-westerly to Point 6 (49\u00b0 29.430′, -119\u00b0 51.951′) at the intersection of June Creek and the Brent Mountain Protected Area. Follow the boundary of the Brent Mountain Protected Area north-westerly to Point 7 (49\u00b0 31.377′, -119\u00b0 56.389′) at the intersection of the Brent Mountain Protected Area and the Okanagan Shuswap Forest District. Follow the Okanagan Shuswap Forest District westerly to Point 8 (49\u00b0 31.210\u2019, -120\u00b0 0.233′) at its intersection with CP 330 Inintock Road Permit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

West Boundary:<\/strong> From Point 8 follow CP 330 Inintock Road Permit northerly to Point 9 (49\u00b0 32.126′, -120\u00b0 0.174′) at the intersection of CP 330 Inintock Road Permit and Isintok-McNulty FSR. Follow Isintok-McNulty FSR westerly to Point 10 (49\u00b0 32.762′, -120\u00b0 1.774′) at the intersection of Isintok-McNulty FSR and the Okanagan Shuswap Forest District boundary. Follow the Okanagan Shuswap Forest District northerly to Point 11 (49\u00b0 36.399′, -120\u00b0 3.094′) at its intersection with A18674 Lost Chain Road Permit. Follow A18674 Lost Chain Road Permit northerly to Point 12 (49\u00b0 38.220′, -120\u00b0 3.479′) at the intersection of A18674 Lost Chain Road Permit and Lost Chain\/Bearpaw Road Permit. Follow Lost Chain\/Bearpaw Road Permit north-easterly to Point 13 (49\u00b0 40.304′, -119\u00b0 58.058′) at the intersection with the Princeton-Summerland Road.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

North Boundary:<\/strong> From Point 13 take a bearing of 26 degrees for 0.28 km to Point 14 (49\u00b0 40.442′, -119\u00b0 57.956′) at the intersection of Munro Lake FSR and unnamed stream. Follow Munro Lake FSR northerly to Point 15 (49\u00b0 43.478′, -119\u00b0 55.354′) at the intersection of Munro Lake FSR and Fish Lake Road. Follow Fish Lake Road south-easterly to Point 16 (49\u00b0 36.751′, -119\u00b0 46.922′) at its intersection with Princeton-Summerland Road. Follow Princeton-Summerland Road south-easterly back to Point 1.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
