SMITHERS \u2013 The BC Wildfire Service will be burning grass in a field on the north side of Highway 16 at 6 Mile Hill, approximately 7.5 kilometres east of Topley. This project is a collaboration between BC Wildfire Service and the Nadina Natural Resource District.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The total area to be burned is about 2.5 hectares.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The exact timing will depend on site, weather and venting conditions, but may occur anytime between Wednesday, April 8 and Friday, April 24. Staff from the BC Wildfire Service will carefully control and monitor this fire.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Smoke will be visible to motorists travelling along Highway 16 and may be visible from Topley and other surrounding communities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
