LILLOOET \u2013 The BC Wildfire Service will be supporting Xw\u00edsten Indian Band in conducting a pile burning project about five kilometres down the Moon Creek Forest Service Road (FSR) and approximately two and a half kilometres southwest of the Bridge River community. Up to 40 piles will be burnt for this project.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Key goals of the pile burning include:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Smoke may be visible from Bridge River, Lillooet and surrounding areas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The exact timing of this burn will depend on weather and site conditions, but it could begin as early as Thursday, March 19. Burning will proceed if conditions are suitable and allow for smoke dispersal during burn operations, though smoke may also linger in the following days.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
