The Area Restriction in place for this wildfire is being reduced in size, but there is still a continued need to protect the public in areas where ongoing fire suppression activities are taking place.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>This Order takes effect at 12:00 p.m. (noon) Pacific Daylight Time (PDT) on July 22, 2025 and remains in force until the earlier of October 15, 2025 or until the Order is rescinded.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This Order applies to Crown land within the geographic boundaries described below:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Coordinates starting from NW corner working clockwise:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>NORTH BOUNDARY:<\/strong><br>Commencing at Point #1 (55\u00b0 20.398\u2019, -120\u00b0 5.255\u2019), follow a bearing of 91 degrees for 3 kilometers to Point # 2 (55\u00b0 20.336\u2019, -120\u00b0 0.082\u2019), a point along the provincial border between British Columbia and Alberta.<br><strong>EAST BOUNDARY:<\/strong><br>Following the provincial border south from to Point #3 (55\u00b0 7.359\u2019, -120\u00b0 0.080\u2019), another point along the BC and Alberta provincial border.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>SOUTH BOUNDARY:<\/strong><br>Following a bearing of 248 degrees for 7.5 kilometers to Point #4 (55 \u00b0 4.573\u2019, -120\u00b0 12.128\u2019), a point along Highway 52.<br><strong>WEST BOUNDARY:<\/strong><br>Following Highway 52 north back to at Point #1 (55\u00b0 20.398\u2019, -120\u00b0 5.255\u2019).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A detailed map of the affected area is below:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div data-wp-interactive=\"core\/file\" class=\"wp-block-file\"><object data-wp-bind--hidden=\"!state.hasPdfPreview\" hidden class=\"wp-block-file__embed\" data=\"https:\/\/blog.gov.bc.ca\/app\/uploads\/sites\/786\/2025\/07\/25-G70422-MAP-Area-Restriction-Public-8.5x11P-Jul-21.pdf\" type=\"application\/pdf\" style=\"width:100%;height:600px\" aria-label=\"Embed of 25 G70422 MAP Area Restriction Public 8.5x11P Jul 21.\"><\/object><a id=\"wp-block-file--media-141a35d7-58f1-4877-ba9b-97754c698484\" href=\"https:\/\/blog.gov.bc.ca\/app\/uploads\/sites\/786\/2025\/07\/25-G70422-MAP-Area-Restriction-Public-8.5x11P-Jul-21.pdf\">25 G70422 MAP Area Restriction Public 8.5x11P Jul 21<\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/blog.gov.bc.ca\/app\/uploads\/sites\/786\/2025\/07\/25-G70422-MAP-Area-Restriction-Public-8.5x11P-Jul-21.pdf\" class=\"wp-block-file__button wp-element-button\" download aria-describedby=\"wp-block-file--media-141a35d7-58f1-4877-ba9b-97754c698484\">Download<\/a><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Under this Order and section 11(2) of the Wildfire Act, a person must not remain in or enter the restricted area <\/strong>without the prior written authorization of an official designated for the purposes of the Wildfire Act, unless the person:<br>Enters the area only in the course of:<br>(a) Travelling to or from his or her residence<br>(b) Using a highway as defined in the Transportation Act<br>(c) Entering the area as a person acting in an official capacity<br>(d) Entering the area for an approved purpose of supporting wildfire suppression activities<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Failure to comply with Section 11 restricted area requirements may result in a <strong>violation ticket for $1,150.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Be safe this summer and always report smoke, wildfires and unattended campfires<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The public is one of our greatest resources when it comes to reporting wildfires. Approximately 40 per cent of wildfires are reported by members of the public. There are a number of ways to report:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Call 1-800-663-5555 toll-free<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Call *5555 from a cell phone<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Submit directly through the BC Wildfire Service mobile app<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Make a plan before you go, and check for:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><a
