Fort Nelson – Changing weather patterns are bringing increased potential for thunderstorms across the Fort Nelson and Fort St. John fire zones on Sunday, June 1.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
These conditions will increase the risk of new wildfire starts, and could increase fire behaviour on existing wildfires.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Thunderstorm activity is expected from the northwest to the southeast starting around 3 pm. Dry lightning and winds gusting up to 60 kilometres per hour are forecast through the evening into the morning of Monday, June 2. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The public is one of our greatest resources when it comes to reporting wildfires. Approximately 40% of wildfires are reported by members of the public. There are a number of ways to report:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
