VANDERHOOF \u2013 The BC Wildfire Service supported the Stellat’en First Nation in conducting a prescribed burn project within the Stellat’en First Nation community. Burning took place on May 15, 2025, covering about five hectares of land. Ignitions are now concluded for this project.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The burn took place under suitable conditions to achieve objectives and allow for smoke disperal, though smoke may linger in the following days. Smoke may be visible from the Stellat’en First Nation community as well as the Highway 16 corridor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
