TUMBLER RIDGE \u2013 The BC Wildfire service will be supporting the District of Tumbler Ridge in conducting a prescribed burn covering up to 2.6 hectares within the community of Tumbler Ridge.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The exact timing of this burn will depend on weather and site conditions, but it could begin as early as April 26, 2025. Burning will proceed if conditions are suitable and allow for smoke dispersal during burn operations, though smoke may also linger in the following days.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Key goals of this prescribed burn include:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Beginning April 15, crews will be onsite preparing the area. This work includes establishing control lines, assessing burn conditions and addressing potential hazards, such as danger trees. These steps help ensure burn operations can be conducted safely and effectively.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
