To determine whether a prohibition applies to your location, check the BC Wildfire Service fire <a href=\"https:\/\/www2.gov.bc.ca\/gov\/content\/safety\/wildfire-status\/prevention\/fire-bans-and-restrictions\/ofts-burn-registration\">prohibitions and restrictions webpage<\/a> as well as with your local authority, municipality, regional district or improvement district.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In general, BC Wildfire Service prohibitions do not apply within municipal boundaries, with some exceptions. Municipalities often follow BC Wildfire Service prohibitions or impose different prohibitions that are more suitable to their circumstances.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The authority to prohibit open fires and other activities is an important part of many bylaws and allows local governments to be responsive to the conditions and unique risk factors within their specific location.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>BC Wildfire Service prohibitions apply within BC Parks.
