Crew History

In 2017, the Telkwa Initial Attack Crew increased its capacity from two initial attack crews to three.

Two years later, in 2019, trials started for an initial attack crew supervisor position and it was implemented as a full-time position in 2021.

With an increase in fire activity, capacity increased again in 2022 with the addition of a junior forest worker alongside a four-person crew. This was an increase from the previous three-person crew format.

Four initial attack crews started the 2023 fire season, an increase from the previous years’ three initial attack crews.
