Crew History

The Rocky Mountain Unit Crew acknowledges and are proud to operate on the traditional lands of the Ktunaxa First Nations. The crew was established in 1992 as an Indigenous Crew and was the original Unit Crew in the Southeast Fire Centre. The crew was initially known as the Cranbrook Kodiaks from 1992 to 1996, before changing their name to the Rocky Mountain Unit Crew in 1997. The crew prides itself on being steep ground firefighters and building a close-knit community.

Patches

Patches were designed by Fiona Jamin around 2006 and have been used since 2007.
