Reminder to stay safe and vigilant across the Prince George Fire Centre

PRINCE GEORGE – Strong and gusty winds are expected across much of the Prince George Fire Zone today. A vigorous frontal system is set to move down across central BC today, and will bring strong wind gusts to the region. Gusty winds are expected for much of the day with peak wind gusts up to 90 km/h expected in the afternoon. Winds will weaken in the evening as the frontal system departs the area in the evening.

For more information on the wind warning issued by Environment Canada visit their website.

The Prince George Fire Centre would like to remind the public, recreationalist and hunters that even though there is currently no prohibitions for Category 1, Category 2, and Category 3 in place, to reconsider lighting any size fire today due to the winds.
