MACKENZIE – The BC Wildfire Service, together with the McLeod Lake Mackenzie Community Forest, will be burning brush piles near the McLeod Lake Mackenzie Community Forest, at Highway 39 and Gagnon Creek. These burns are being conducted to complete hazard abatement along the highway corridor.
Burning is anticipated to start on Wednesday, March 13, 2024, but will only proceed if conditions are suitable and a burn plan is in place. Smoke may be visible in the area. Staff from the BC Wildfire Service will be on site to carefully monitor these fires.
