Pile burning near Fort Nelson



PRINCE GEORGE – The BC Wildfire Service will be supporting the Northern Rockies Regional Airport in burning three piles of debris Friday, March 14, 2025. This work is being completed after land clearing to reduce flammable fuels near the airport and improve aircraft safety.

Smoke may be visible to Fort Nelson and surrounding areas and to travelers along Highway 97.

Pile burning will only proceed if conditions are favourable. BC Wildfire Service personnel will carefully prepare, control and monitor these piles at all times.
